Sam Foster is the main protagonist of Five Nights To Remember Remake.
He is the nightguard of the new location where the Remake takes place in, assumedly (and for good reason) not having any prior connections with Fazbear Entertainment.
History[]
Sam Foster's entire backstory is mostly ambiguous, having been left behind to the player's interpretation.
As seen in the game, Sam has "vision"'s that were rumored by many fans to be 'visions of the future'. The whole reasoning for the visions hasn't yet been revealed, though a good candidate could be either heavy anxiety or possible schizophrenia (which is unlikely).
At some point three years after "the incident" (the year speculated to be 1986), Sam had signed up for the night-watchman position at the rebranded Fredbear's Diner and proceeded to watch over the restaurant for (logically) five nights total.
Efforts haven't really gone to waste as Foster had received his well-deserved paycheck at the end of Night 5, even after seeing literal horrors.
